Most of the time we’re more into everyday style over here. I will always appreciate an epic dress or over-the-top ensemble, but most days, I’m just in jeans and a tee unless I’m in the city for a fancy event (or in Charleston where everyone is in dresses, always!) I’ve been really focused on shopping less + rewearing pieces I already have + love.
Still, it’s fun to play… and you know I love a good rainbow piece. Remember this rainbow sequin dress and this rainbow stripe tee? Yeah, I have a little bit of an obsession, I guess. 🙂 But when I saw this dress I flipped out a little bit. I assumed that it was probably Alice & Olivia or a more expensive brand and was so excited to see that it’s actually a really great price! I have so many dresses that I actually started a rule against buying dresses unless they are for a particular event. I broke that rule for this dress. Can the event just be wanting to twirl? Haha. I’m sure I’ll have an occasion soon enough. And in the meantime, these may be my favorite photos that Trent and I have ever taken. They make me so happy and I love the backdrop of the Williamsburg Bridge.
ALSO! A bit of fun news to share – I am going to be the keynote speaker at this year’s Blog Societies Conference in Atlanta this August. I couldn’t be more honored or excited (or nervous – I do a lot of public speaking but have never been a keynote speaker!). Tickets go on sale today at 10am (and usually sell out pretty quickly) so if you are a blogger and looking to up your game + connect with likeminded ladies, consider getting a ticket!
The fit of the dress is true to size. If you’re in between sizes, especially if you are busty or have a big rib cage, go up. (I bought a medium and I’m glad I did because it would definitely have been too tight up top if I’d bought a small).
It’s a wrap dress with one interior tie and one exterior tie, which keeps it snuggly in place. I do not wear a bra with this dress. If you’re petite, you may need to get it hemmed. (I’m 5’8 and wearing 4″ heels and it’s perfect).
