V Magazine chose to feature two of the industry’s current top artists, Dua Lipa and SZA, for the eagerly awaited music issue. The two superstars gave two very personal, in-depth interviews, discussing their journey to stardom, relationships, and much more.
The two ladies sat down with equally incredible women, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Katy Perry. SZA was interviewed by Jada Pinkett-Smith and opened up about her struggles with bullying in school. During the interview she recalls a very personal conversations she shared with her mother while she was being bullied. “My mom said I was born serious as hell. I don’t know what that means, but I went through a lot of bullying and ostracizing in school, so it was hard for me to connect with anyone,” said SZA.
DUA LIPA sat down with Katy Perry to discuss her superstitions before shows and why she decided not to attend University. The two also unpacked why it’s so important for women in the industry to stick together. “It’s nice to come together with other girls in the industry. It’s interesting to see people just hanging out. For so many years, the media has kind of pitted girls against each other,” Dua says.
